2012 Foundations, Inc. - Beyond School Hours Conference

2012 Summer Institute

The U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Office of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to announce the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program (21st CCLC) 2012 Summer Institute. This year’s 21st CCLC Summer Institute will be held from Tuesday, July 31, through Thursday, August 2, 2012, in New Orleans, LA. Online registration for the 2012 Summer Institute will be available in early February 2012 at www.seiservices.com/21stcentury.


ED is seeking proposals for breakout sessions and will issue a Call for Presentations (CFP) and Call for Exhibitors (CFE) in the coming weeks. A separate notification will be sent out and the link will be posted on the website.


You for Youth: Online Professional Development Program

The You for Youth website http://y4y.ed.gov provides support to grantees of the U.S. Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. Based on research and best practices, Y4Y offers training in the "what, why and how" of a variety of topics. Y4Y also presents a rich collection of resource materials, along with a variety of opportunities to connect with education experts and practitioners. Current course topics include project-based learning; aligning with the school day; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; strengthening partnerships; and family involvement. It's easy and free to join the Y4Y community, and you will be at the head of the line to receive news and annoucements about special events, such as webinars with expert practitioners.
