Tomorrow, Nov. 28, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Boise, Idaho, where he will announce several new Full-Service Community School grant awards and then participate in a tour and a roundtable discussion on the importance of community schools throughout Idaho.

On Tuesday Nov.14, 2023, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten will make a “Raise the Bar: Lead the World” school visit to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district, to visit three schools and discuss how they can continue to promote academic excellence and prepare students for global competitiveness.

The U.S. Department of Education is hosting a national summit Thursday in Annandale, Virginia, with more than 200 higher education leaders on improving student transfer process. The Department will urge educators and stakeholders to explore what can be done to help students avoid getting stranded as they attempt to transfer from two-year to four-year institutions in striving for a degree.

On Thursday, Nov. 2, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and White House Domestic Policy Advisor Neera Tanden will travel to Baltimore, where they will meet with Jewish students from area universities to talk about the increase in reported antisemitism on college campuses following the Hamas attack in Israel on Oct 7.

On Friday, Nov. 3, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Claremont, New Hampshire, as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in Rural America agenda. Secretary Cardona will tour River Valley Community College and then participate in a roundtable with faculty, students, and community partners to learn more about the college’s focus on health care education and technical careers.
