Funding Status

The National Technical Assistance Center on Transition (NTACT) is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). RSA contributes approximately 16 percent towards the Center.

In Fiscal Year 2016, the NTACT received a one-time supplement from RSA in the amount of $599,997 to be applied in Years 3, 4, and 5 of the project. The purpose of the supplement is to both expand current technical Assistance (TA) activities at all levels (i.e., universal, targeted, intensive) by adding a full-time person with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) expertise, as well as increasing full time equivalency for current staff. These efforts require increased time for coordinated planning with states receiving targeted and intensive TA services. Increased effort is also required for knowledge development activities which inform the intensive, targeted, and universal TA resources, regarding evidence-based and promising practices to implement Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) pre-employment transition services and collaboration strategies at the State, local, and individual service levels. The supplement will also allow for increased universal TA, such as the development of online mini-modules focused on implementing and evaluating pre-employment transition services.
