Centers Supporting Efforts to Improve Reading Instruction

National Center on Improving Literacy

The National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL) is a national center dedicated to increase access to, and use of, evidence-based approaches to screen, identify, and teach students with literacy-related disabilities, including dyslexia. NCIL includes a searchable resource repository as well as NCIL-developed products summarizing research.

National Center on Intensive Interventions

The mission of National Center on Intensive Interventions (NCII) is to build capacity of state and local education agencies, universities, practitioners, and other stakeholders to support implementation of intensive intervention in reading, mathematics, and behavior for students with severe and persistent learning and/or behavioral needs.

What Works Clearinghouse

The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) reviews the existing research on different programs, products, practices, and policies in education. Our goal is to provide educators with the information they need to make evidence-based decisions. We focus on the results from high-quality research to answer the question, "What works in education?"

IRIS Center

The IRIS Center is a national center dedicated to improving education outcomes for all children, especially those with disabilities birth through age twenty-one, through the use of effective evidence-based practices and interventions.

CEEDAR Center

The Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability and Reform (CEEDAR) Center a national technical assistance center dedicated to supporting states in their efforts to develop teachers and leaders who can successfully prepare students with disabilities to achieve college and career-ready standards.
