The illustrations in this book are self-portraits drawn by friends and family of the U.S. Department of Education. Ranging from 3 to 17 years old, these young people are from diverse backgrounds, and many have participated in public school programs such as English as a Second Language, gifted and talented, and services for students with special needs.
