8.Objectives: To provide academic and vocational education, job placement, worksite monitoring and community transition linkages for inmates from six correctional facilities.
9. Procedures: A nine week Life Skills program is offered to inmates. The work evaluation activity will occur during the inmates' orientation and evaluation phase. Those students ready for job training and skills application (based upon work evaluation results and career counseling meetings) will be placed in a vocational technical setting designed to provide state-of-the-art training. Students are then transitioned back into the community.
10.Outcomes/Results/Products: To provide a "continuum of care" vocational education model including job placement and transition services. To evaluate, document, and disseminate the impact of the program model and its components. Dissemination includes publications, presentations and on-site visits.
