Objective: To improve and expand life skills training and academic/vocational opportunities for incarcerated individuals. To increase pre-release counseling and provide post-release follow-up and support counseling for at least 3 months.To provide inservice training.
Procedures: Inmates receive evening life skill training.Life skill consultants are utilized to provide quality, motivating presentations to inmates.Inmates participate in post-release support group meetings.
Outcomes/Results/Products: Participants become literate and acquire the career skills and knowledge to achieve economic independence and assume responsibilities of citizenship.
