Live Internet Webinar—COD System and Direct Loan Update

This training will discuss recent changes for 2011–2012, including adverse credit criteria modifications, Two-Factor Authentication (TFA), and the Special Direct Consolidation Loan opportunity. In addition we will provide information about updates for 2012–2013, including information on changes resulting from the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011. Lastly, the session will review Direct Loan Program year closeout information for 2010–2011, as some institutions will be completing this process for the first time this year.

This training is intended for financial aid office personnel at both domestic and foreign schools who are interested in learning more about recent updates to Direct Loan processing in the COD System.

We will present this information in one 90-minute session offered on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. (ET) and again on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 9:00 A.M. (ET). The March 8th session has been scheduled at a time convenient for many foreign school staff; however, both sessions are open to all participants.

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow for as many participants as possible, we strongly encourage groups to view the webinar from a single location if accommodations allow. If viewing as a group, only one person from the group needs to register.

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log-in information for the website, system test links, and cancellation information. PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

Interactive DL Reconciliation Training

This 70-minute training session is intended for financial aid and business office personnel who are responsible for reconciling and funding Direct Loans.
