Announcement of a new 21stCCLC competition for approximately $185 million in FY2000. Applications are now available! Announcement of 125 new grants under 21stCCLC to support 517 community learning centers across the nation.
November 19, 1999
The 21st CCLC Program received an appropriation of nearly $454 million in FY 2000. The amount is more than double last year's appropriation of $200 million.
July 26-30, 1999
The 21stCCLC Summer Institute was held in Washington, DC in two 2-day sessions for our 468 grantees from across the country.
April 28, 1999
176 new grants announced. These grants will serve 777 schools located in 41 States and Territories, including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
March 1, 1999
Due date for applications for the 1999 competition. Over 2,000 communities throughout the country participated in this year's competition.

Copies of the 21st CCLC Workshop for Potential Grantees is now available. Also, see ED's Slide Presentation. Over 7,000 participants attended regional workshops sponsored by ED, the C.S. Mott Foundation, the National Center for Community Education, and the National Community Education Association.
