June 14, 2001 Nearly $206 million in new 21st Century Community Learning Center grants were announced. The new grants will go to 308 school districts, working in partnership with community-based organizations, to establish centers in 1,420 rural and inner-city public schools.
June, 2001 The 21st Century Community Learning Centers program was named as a semifinalist in the Harvard University-Kennedy School of Government Innovations in American Government Awards program. The 21st Century Community Learning Centers program was one of 99 semifinalists selected from over 1,300 applications.April 1, 2001 The deadline for the current competition was March 30, 2001. The Department received nearly 2,750 applications. We hope to announce new grants in early June.
January 3, 2001 A new 21st CCLC grant competition is announced for $205 million. Copies of the application are available to download.
January 3, 2001 386 new grantees are also announced.
