VISITING SCHOLARS PROGRAM



The OERI Visiting Scholars Fellowship Program, administered by the National Research Council, allows individuals to conduct educational research at the OERI national research institutes in Washington, DC for up to 12 months. Fellows selected for this program may receive awards commensurate with their current salaries plus moving expenses. Aside from carrying out their research, fellows are expected to interact in a collegial manner with OERI staff and be available to share their insights and expertise when needed.

Eligible applicants include scholars, researchers, policymakers, educational practitioners, librarians, or statisticians who are engaged in the use, collection, and dissemination of information about education and educational research.

FY 2000 competition was completed. Four visiting scholars were selected to join the U.S. Department of Education in September as visiting scholars in OERI's national research institutes. They are:

At this time, we do not anticipate a FY2001 competition. Future competitions depend on the availability of funds. Notices of new competitions will be posted on this web site.
