This program subsumes the staffs and purposes of four CRESPAR I programs: Resilience and Cultural Integrity, Early Learning, Elementary, and Language Minority. This program consists of four projects: (a) Two projects for the development and evaluation of early childhood education programs -- (1) An early literacy preparation program for educators and parents, and (2) A comprehensive early intervention program, including language-focused curriculum and learning activities, and family involvement strategies; (b) A talent development elementary school project -- Asset-based approach; (c) Two projects for enhancing quality, outcomes, and policy impact of Success for All (SFA) -- (1) Investigation of factors contributing to student success in SFA, and (2) Evaluation of SFA as an after-school and summer school program; (d) Three projects for strengthening SFA for English language learners -- (1) Development and evaluation of a transitional SFA program from Spanish to English reading, (2) Development and evaluation of a new SFA English language arts model for English learners, and (3) Development and evaluation of a two-way bilingual SFA program. It focuses on development and evaluations of early learning programs, elementary programs (including Success for All/Roots & Wings and the Talent Development Elementary School), Bilingual, ESL, and two-way bilingual programs, afterschool programs, and summer school programs. Research also examines the roles and perceptions of teachers in comprehensive reform models.
