Michael LeFlore
Michael LeFlore is the Director of IMPACT (I Motivate People And Community Together) at the Omega Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. IMPACT, which enrolls students from kindergarten through eighth grade, offers homework help, tutoring, cultural enrichment and a variety of recreation activities from an overnight camping trip at the Phoenix Zoo to dance and art classes. The program's community partners include the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Science Center, and the Helen K. Mason Center for the Performing Arts. The Afterschool Alliance and American Isuzu Motors, Inc named him the Afterschool Hero of the Year for 2001.

Roma Arellano
Roma Arellano is the Worldwide Community Education Manager for the Intel Corporation. In this position, Roma is responsible for the Intel Computer Clubhouse and the efforts to establish a global network of "intervention workshops" for young people. The Intel Computer Clubhouse is an after-school program, in which youth ages eight to 18 years old gain access to high-tech equipment and professional software, as well as mentors to develop skills that open up opportunities, foster creativity and encourage self-confidence. The Intel Computer Clubhouse Network is a project of Boston's Museum of Science in collaboration with the MIT Media Laboratory.

Carla Sanger
Carla Sanger is the President and Chief Executive Officer of LA's BEST, an afterschool program in Los Angeles County serving over 18,000 students. Carla was named executive director of the program at its inception in 1988, building LA's BEST from a base of ten schools to a current total of over one hundred sites. Under her leadership, LA's BEST has become a national model for youth development and successful after school enrichment programs. Ms. Sanger has been honored with an Angel award by the Child Lifesaving Foundation, the Wishing Well Award from the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and the Pursuit of Justice Award from the California Women's Law Center.

Jeanne Waldren
Jeanne Waldren is the Unit Director for the Boys & Girls Club in Soldotna, Alaska and the Program Director of Soldotna After the Bell. After the Bell is an after-school program brought to the Soldotna area schools through the collaborative efforts of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, Soldotna Community Schools, the Boys & Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula and the 21st Century Learning Communities program. After the Bell is primarily geared toward improving academic performance and behavior of students in first through 12th grade. Activities include an afterschool and summer clubhouse run by the Boys and Girls Club, tutorial programs, remedial summer schools, art classes and a summer art institute, regular recreational programs for teens, counseling, academic summer camps, nutritional program, transportation and family development.
