As a result of attending this Summit, what two things does your state team commit to doing in the next six months toward enhanced literacy for children and their families?

  1. Wyoming Literacy Team
  2. Inform state leaders: legislature, WDE, UW/community colleges.
  3. Develop an action plan which would encompass components such as staff development, etc.
What can the U.S. Department of Education do to help YOU help children read well and independently by the end of the third grade?
  1. Greater flexibility in staff development dollars.
  2. Don't ignore small states, i.e. more school improvement dollars here.
  3. Make Riley's speech, etc., developed as a videotape - we need it.
