Team Report

How Wisconsin is implementing the research findings in the National Research Council Report, "Preventing Reading Difficulties in Young Children."

Planning a major literacy initiative spanning two years to provide sustained professional development support to instructional teams to better focus on prevention of difficulties and strengthening of intervention strategies.

A Wisconsin Success Story

The district exhibited a well-planned, coordinated effort across and within its Title I, Even Start, parent support initiatives, and Americorps to provide integrated support to literacy goals. Children and adults greatly benefited from the collaborative efforts. Each of the entities contributed in ways which increased tutoring and academic support and engaged the community in supportive assistance.
