The following definitions apply unless the context requires otherwise:
"Administrator" includes all persons whose duties require an administrative license.
"21st Century Schools Council" means a body composed of teachers, parents of students, principal or the principal's designee, classified district employees, and public members, constituted and selected according to ORS 329.705, for the purpose of designing and administering programs submitted and approved under this Act.
"Department" means the Department of Education.
"District Planning Committee" means a body composed of teachers, administrators, and public members, established for the purposes of ORS 329.535 to 329.605.
"School district" means a school district as defined in ORS 332.002, and education service district, a state operated school, or any legally constituted combination of such entities that sponsors an eligible program and submits an application under this Act.
"State Board" means the State Board of Education.
"Teacher" means any licensed employee in a school district who has direct responsibility for instruction, coordination of educational programs, or supervision of teachers and who is compensated for such services from public funds. "Teacher" does not include a school nurse, as defined in ORS 342.455, or a person whose duties require an administrative license.
"Classified employee" means a district employee in the public schools whose position does not require a license.
"Parents" means parents or guardians of students currently enrolled in a public school providing education in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
